Group SMS Project

As a quick Proof-of-Concept app I want to build a group SMS web app using Twilio's API. Of course, building something isn't much fun if nobody wants to use it so I'll be open-sourcing it and providing some basic install instructions for those of you who are interested in playing with it.

My main goals are:

  • Ease of Use
  • Ease of Extendability
  • Ease of Deployment

Knowing that, if you would like to use this app let me know what features you'd like to see. For version 1.0 here's what I'm thinking it should do:

  • Incoming SMSes to subscribe to groups (perhaps #hashtag style)
  • Incoming SMSes to queues for individual messaging
  • Outgoing SMSes to groups
  • Outgoing SMSes to individuals

Anything I missed? Anything you'd like to see? Depending on the level of interest I might also offer a hosted version and/or premium support option to fund further development.

For now, suggestions in the comments or email are fine. Later I'll probably have an issue tracker you can use (when I have real code).

EDIT: You can now track this project at http://eztxt.us
